Dear Professor Mfenyana
As you hold the position as Vice Chancellor and Principal of Walter Sisulu University I am writing to you with some urgency for confirmation that you are taking all the possible steps to pressure the police into opening an investigation of the kidnapping of Vusi Mahlangu.
As you will be aware Vusi Mahlangu is an activist in the #OutsourcingMustFall movement, who, on Tuesday morning, was abducted at gunpoint from your campus by men in civilian clothes.
The last anyone has heard from him was a text message that read “I am either kidnapped or arrested and I am bleeding… In a dark place at Mthatha, my phone is about to die.”
You too must be outraged by the fact that the police at Madera Police Station have refused to open a case on this kidnapping.
Please let me know what is being done to ensure Vusi Mahlangu is located and that his kidnappers are brought to justice.
